This is a website I created while enrolled as a fellow at the G{Code} house, which is a coding program for young women and non binary people of color. To create this webpage, I utilized web development fundamentals such as HTML, CSS, and Javascript to work on a topic I was passionate about. In this case it was about natural hair in the media. Whether it was in animation, comics, manga, or other mediums of art. I noticed the gap in representation when it came to hairstyling. A lot of the time the character design of Black characters didn't really capture the essence and diversity in texture of Black hair. While developing this webpage, it was all about trial and error. I had to mess around with CSS to arrange certain elements to their desired positions. It took a lot of time and effort. Colors were another aspect to the process as well. I had to choose complementary colors for light and dark mode of the webpage. Clicking on the directory you can also see the words change to blue with a hover effect.
